Susan is a Senior Client Service Manager with the C.M. Smith Agency, Inc, responsible for a select group of National and Middle Market clients. She works directly with our clients to assist in the development and execution of long term strategic benefit programs. She acts as an extension to our client's staff by providing guidance on issues such as data analytics, vendor plan performance, reporting, and compliance. She provides vendor oversight including implementation management, contract and booklet reviews, as well as monitoring and reporting on performance guarantees, financial results and utilization metics.
She came to the Agency in 2002 from Barnes Group Inc., where she acted as the Corporate Manager of Benefits, managing the health and welfare plans for over 4,000 employees located nationwide. In that capacity she was responsible for the corporate benefit program, including benefits budgeting, vendor selection, plan administration, and employee communications.
Prior to her start in the manufacturing sector, Susan 15 years at Aetna in various lead service roles in the Connecticut and Rhode Island markets.
Susan is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and a current CEBS candidate. She has her CT life and health license.
