Baxter (Bret) Maffett is a co-owner of the C.M. Smith Agency, Inc. He joined C.M. Smith in 1983. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Middlebury College in 1972 and a Masters of Business Administration from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College in 1975.
Bret holds the following professional designations: Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and Certified in Long Term Care (CLTC). He is a life and qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table, a member of the American Society of Chartered Life Underwriters, the National Association of Life Underwriters and the Estate and Business Planning Council of Hartford.
Bret is actively involved with a number of community organizations and industry groups. He serves as vice-chairman of the Advisory Board for Jefferson House (an affiliate of Hartford Hospital) and on the Saint Francis Hospital Foundation Board.
